This week in Social Studies, Mr. Harris will be teaching 5th graders about the roots of American democracy. They will learn about how America was formed through its Constitution. They will also learn about how Native Americans were treated by colonialists and use primary documents to get an understanding of the American Revolution. "It is always fun to teach students about the foundation of American Government", says Social Studies teacher Mr. Harris. "It's important to learn how the ideas of freedom and democracy started in America."
