Nearly 40 Students Participate in NFL's Football Clinic

On April 27th, 32 students from PS4 were invited to the NFL Play 60 Youth Football Event at Chelsea Piers! The nearly 600 children from NYC schools were given a t-shirt and a wrist band. During the event, the students participated in drills similar to what is done during actual NFL practices. Students also had the chance to meet many of the 24 NFL's draft picks and Commissioner Roger Goodell. NFL players and staff spent time on the field with students. "It was great to have our kids learn about health, sportsmanship and a commitment to a goal", said Coach Harris, "everyone had a good time". Mr. Cantu also commented on how well the football players interacted with the kids. During the event, Orlando P. (420) and Ayleen R. (501) were able to speak to the audience about the importance of getting enough exercise each day.

Special thanks to Jon-Paul Dyson and Community League of the Heights who has, yet again, allowed our students to have the opportunity to participate in activities with the National Football League through their Play 60 program.
