First Day of Spring

March 20th was the first day of Spring!  Although most of us know it as the day that the weather usually becomes warmer, astrologers call it the vernal equinox.  It is the day that the sun crosses directly over the Earth's equator.

Spring Recess

Dear Students & Parents,

Please be advised that all NYC Public Schools will be closed for Spring Recess (including Good Friday, Easter and Passover) from Monday, April 18 through Tuesday, April 26, 2011.

The school will re-open on Wednesday, April 27, 2011.

Spring Break

It is time for a break! The Duke Ellington School will be closed on Monday 29, 2010 through Tuesday April 6, 2010. The school will re-open on Wednesday, April 7, 2010.

Boys and girls, take time out to rest. But don't forget to review your math and reading skills. There are many great websites for kids that you can use to practice math strategies. Try http://www.aaamath.com/ to help you review.
