Celebrating The Holidays of The Season

In P.S. 4's lobby, the P.T.A. has set up a display of holiday celebrations. There's a Christmas tree, a Menorah and a Kinara. These three displays are symbols of the Christian holiday of Christmas, the Jewish holiday of Hanukkah and the African-American celebration of Kwanzaa. Along with these holidays, there are also some staff members and students who observe Muslim holidays. All of these holiday celebrations have a lot in common! All use lights and candles to celebrate special days. During each celebration, gifts are exchanged. Each holiday brings families together and they are observed all over the world! For more information and activities for each of these holidays, check out the following websites:
  • Hanukkah (December 2-10th of this year)
  • Christmas (December 25th of each year)
  • Kwanzaa (December 26-January 1 of each year)
From The Duke Ellington School family to yours, have a restful vacation and...
HAPPY HOLIDAYS!

I think that the christmas tree in the main loby looks beautiful. I liked that the idea that every one is donating pennies for charity. I know if it was up to me I know I would donate a whole lot of money to charity.

I enjoy seeing this tree in my school lobby. This season we are collecting cans of food or non perishable food. We are also collecting pennies for people that don't have money can have some money.
